Baby Jesus

Hayden got to be Baby Jesus for our Ward Christmas Party, so by default Ben and I were Joseph and Mary. When my mom was here over Thanksgiving she threw together some costumes for us and we were so grateful! He made the best Baby Jesus and didn't cry during his whole part.

Lincoln loves Pictures

First I want you all to know that Lincoln is a very happy boy. He laughs and smiles all the time, but for some reason when the camera comes out he will stare blankly or glare. This is not "new baby" related either, I have just noticed it since we are taking a lot more pictures in the last few weeks. I have been trying to work with him on smiling for pictures, but it's not working. I was going through pictures from when my parents were here (which I will post later) and he wasn't smiling in a single one.

Festival of Trees

On Friday Ben's mom took us to the Festival of Trees. It is a fundraiser for the Primary Children's Hospital where people decorate trees that are then sold. There were a ton of trees and it was fun to see how they were decorated. There was one tree that was decorated with Legos and Lincoln couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed to play with them. This was at the very end and Lincoln had just had a meltdown since I wouldn't let him push the stroller through the large crowds of people, but I like how Hayden is looking at the camera.

Jaundice Boy

Hayden had a high Bilirubin count when we left the hospital, so he had to be on the "bed of lights" for almost a week. He was only allowed to be taken out to eat and have his diaper changed. Don't worry he is doing great now and has been off the bed for a week now, but I thought these pictures were too cute to not share.

Hayden Jack Photo Shoot

My friend Trina came to the hospital and took some cute pictures of Hayden. Here are just a couple so you can see our cute baby!

Hayden Jack Jones

We are excited to announce Hayden Jack Jones was born at 2:48 am on 11/10/11. He was 7 lbs 3 oz and 20 inches. He is such a sweet baby and we all love having him here. Surprisingly even Lincoln likes him. We will post more pictures once we get home from the hospital.

Are you old enough to have an opinion?

Lincoln has always loved music. Even when I was pregnant I could feel him dancing when there was loud music playing. One time I didn't feel him move for a full day and I had tried everything to get him to move. Finally Ben put headphones on my stomach and turned up the volume and within seconds he was moving around. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that he has become a music snob. When we are driving around in the car he will yell "No" if he doesn't like the song that is playing on the radio. Sometimes I have to change the station a few times until he hears one that is suitable. Now I don't know if he actually knows what he is doing, or if he just likes to yell, but I think he does since I have noticed a pattern in what he will agree to listen to. It has to be loud, have a good beat, and he wants to be able to dance to it. So, in conclusion he actually has really bad taste in music. We end up listening to a lot of hip hop, rap, and top 40 type songs while he rocks out in his car seat. His dancing involves a lot of head bobbing, moving his shoulders back and forth, and sticking his pointer fingers up in the air. Now some people might point out that I am the parent and I have control of what is playing, but I love that at 18 months he already knows what he likes.
Here is a picture of him staring blankly at me in his new car I bought for $20 off of KSL. Please notice clutched in his hand is his motorcycle that he always has to have with him.

Las Vegas!

This post will be somewhat boring since I have only two lame pictures to add. We took our camera and video camera, but they never saw the outside of the suitcase. Since Ben had three days off in a row this weekend we decided to take advantage and go on our first and last vacation of the summer! We drove down to Las Vegas to stay with Brittany's family and had a great time. Lincoln is a "delightful" traveler (I am being sarcastic) so we didn't leave until 7:30pm on Friday so he would sleep most of the time. We had a great time eating at our favorite places, seeing the Lions at the MGM, going to the Coke and M&M stores, shopping at the coolest candy/soda store, hanging out with friends, watching YouTube videos with the kids, playing with cute kids, etc. We love going to visit the Greene Family! I miss living by them so much and can't believe how old my little boys are. Here are the two pictures I took with my phone at the Coca Cola Store.

We decided to leave on Sunday night when Lincoln was ready for bed so we could have a more enjoyable ride home. Adam and Ben packed up our car with a new toddler bed for Lincoln and we were off....or so we thought. About a mile from their house Lincoln threw up all over himself and his car seat. We pulled over, stripped him down, and then headed back to their house to clean up the rest of the car. Once at their house he continued throwing up and dry heaving for another hour. Ben is a great dad who cleaned up the car seat, car, and started a load of laundry while I gave Lincoln a bath, had him drink water and cuddled him. At this point Lincoln had stopped throwing up and was sound asleep. We decided that it would still be best to at least start driving home, since a sick but sleeping Lincoln is still a better travel companion than a well but awake Lincoln. Since we left so late from Vegas, we didn't get home until 4:30am on Monday morning. There were a few times that both of us were tired and we were going to pull over at the next town and sleep, but then Lincoln would wake up and dry heave and our adrenaline would start pumping again. Our poor little boy finally started feeling better yesterday afternoon, but it was a long morning for all of us. We are still glad we went and had a great time...until Sunday evening.

Month of August

This summer has flown by and I can't believe it is already September. Ben's sister came for a month to visit and we loved having them here.

Lincoln really loved Zerrin and would hug him all the time.

Lincoln loves to wear shoes, his own or any shoes that are left out. He had a great time constantly wearing his cousins shoes while they were here.

He is also obsessed with this toy motorcycle. It can be found gripped tightly in his little hand the majority of the time. He likes to hold it while falling asleep at night and play with it when he wakes up in the morning. Ben was trying to get a good picture of it, but Lincoln wouldn't relinquish his hold.

Orem Summer Fest....two months ago

In June we attended the Orem Summer Fest! Lincoln was too little to go on the rides, but he had a good time anyway.

Afterwards, we went to another friends house for a BBQ. Lincoln had a good time playing on all their toys.

One thing we have discovered about Lincoln is his love of attacking other babies. We are going to be in trouble in a couple of months!

Lincoln loves to Drive

Lincoln loves to be outside. In fact, he cries at the door several times a day saying bye bye over and over until we take him out or distract him. Once we get outside he walks around visiting the same spots in our garage and yard. Stop number two of this tour is the VW Bug, which he knocks on the door until we open it and let him inside.
