California Trip Continued

Even though it has been three weeks since we went to California, I thought I should do one more blog. On Friday night we went to the Observatory where I got to hang out with Albert Einstein.

On Saturday after the key flushing we went to the Getty Museum with my mom.

These were so cool. From a distance they looked like trees, but really it is a plant growing up through rusted rebar.

Does anyone know what type of plant this is? It has green flowers that look like leaves.

This is the coolest painting there. The pin that is going through the insect is an actual huge metal pin that holds the painting to the wall. You can go on a walkway over the painting and look down and see the pin sticking in the wall.

Trip to Hollywood

Ben and I happened to be in Hollywood the weekend of the Oscars.  We actually left Saturday afternoon, so we didn't get to be there for the Oscar madness.  We did get to walk around the day before and see some behind the scenes excitement.

On Friday we went to see Jay Leno. His guests were not that amazing (Meredith Viera, Chris Isaac) but we had a great time. We got to sit in the third row and shake hands with Jay. If you happened to be watching, yes that was Ben you saw at the very beginning. For those of you who missed it come to our house and we will show you.

Turbo Toilet

Ben and I went LA last weekend for a little vacation. I am going to get around to blogging about it, but first I need to share something very exciting......I flushed my keys down the toilet. Yes you read that right, keys down the toilet. On Saturday morning we met up with my parents at this restaurant called Juniors. When it was time to leave I decided to go to the bathroom first. As I am heading into the stall I looked down and see my car keys poking out of my pocket just a little. I thought to myself "I should put those somewhere else." But then I decided there was no point since I was leaving in a second anyway. Usually I use my foot to flush public toilets, but for some reason this time I leaned forward and flushed it with my hand. Right when this turbo toilet started it extreme suction, my keys flew out of my pocket right into the cyclone. I threw my hand into the public toilet bowl to retrieve my keys, but it was too late. The toilet was way to intense for my slow reaction time. Gone were my car key, clicker to turn off my car alarm, house key and my electronic fob that clocks me in at work. I apparently made some sort of gasp, shout or scream when this happened because my mom who was in the next stall starting saying "Ashley, what's wrong?" I couldn't even respond. I was in shock. I just stared into the toilet bowl. Was this really the end of my keys? Were they not going to come back up? Do I just leave the stall? I finally walked out since my mom kept asking what had happened. Once I started telling her the story we both couldn't stop laughing. We walked out of the bathroom to inform my dad and Ben of my tragedy. But then I couldn't decide if it really was okay to leave the bathroom. I kept walking back in and just standing there, but then realizing there was nothing I could do. Because Ben is smart he had brought along his set of my car keys to California, the only problem was they were in the locked car. We had to call AAA to come and break into my car to get the keys. Ben called Honda and it is only a mere $150 to get new car keys! Everybody called me toilet girl at work last Monday when I had to explain why I couldn't clock in at work.
